Sur

Sur is inspired by the emotional landscape of southern Chile, where weather, memory, and fragility become inseparable. A young calf, reconstructed from ceramic tiles, slowly emerges from layers of weathered street posters and urban debris. Rather than presenting a complete image, the work asks the viewer to step back, allowing distance to reveal its form. For the first time, spontaneous hand-drawn marks become part of the composition, evoking falling rain, while traces of disorder and repeated FRAGILE shipping tape become quiet reminders of vulnerability, movement, and what remains after absence. Together, these fragments transform discarded materials into a meditation on emotional resilience and the quiet strength found in what others leave behind.
