Cristian Carvajal (1977, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean visual artist working under the name CUBZ.

His practice explores memory, perception, and transformation through mosaic, pixel art, torn posters, and urban fragments. Drawing from popular culture, street imagery, and the visual layers of the city, he creates works that reconstruct familiar images from broken pieces.

With a background in theater, film, and television, Carvajal approaches each artwork as a visual scene—an encounter between recognition and discovery. His works often exist between abstraction and representation, inviting viewers to complete the image through memory.

Central to his practice is the idea that cities function as living archives. Layers of paper, signs, textures, and traces of everyday life become raw material for new narratives.

Rather than preserving the past, CUBZ transforms it.

His works have been exhibited in galleries, public spaces, and contemporary art fairs, where he continues to develop a visual language rooted in memory, fragmentation, and the overlooked beauty of the urban landscape.
